Though it may seem counterintuitive given the current situation of the cryptocurrency economy, Coin ATM Radar reports that almost 5 crypto ATMs are being installed daily around the world.
The website displays a chart of crypto ATMs installed over time. In the most recent one, the gauge scale shown is based on the past 60 days while the speed is based on the last seven days.
Of these (almost) 5 crypto ATMs installed daily, majority is located in the United States, followed by Canada and Austria.
As for the total number of crypto ATMs, there are 4,167 as of January 11, 2019. This show tremendous growth in the previous year.
Of the 4,167 ATMs, 71.8 per cent is located in North America, with – unsurprisingly – the United States leading the pack (56%) and Canada following (15%).
Europe claims 23 per cent of the machines, Asia 2.6 per cent, Oceania 1.3, South America 1.1, and Africa 0.2 per cent.
What about the cryptocurrency supported by the machines?
As can be expected, Bitcoin dominates with 99.9 per cent of the machines supporting the crypto. 64.6 per cent of the machines support one or more alt coins.
