An Opera-Ledger Capital partnership has been established with the goal of exploring applications in the blockchain sector.
In a press release, Opera announced its strategic partnership with Ledger Capital, an established blockchain and financial services company. For years, the company “has been providing strategic, technological and financial advisory services to various blockchain infrastructures, decentralized applications, multinational corporations and to government-backed projects and initiatives.”
With Opera being what it is in the web browser realm, this foray into blockchain is a positive turn of events. The Opera-Ledger Capital partnership will delve into possible applications of blockchain technology, particularly in Opera products.
This is not Opera’s first entry into the blockchain sector. In fact, it can be considered a trailblazer in its own right. In July 2018, it launched a built-in crypto wallet for its mobile version, and in doing so, becoming the first major in the field. Additionally, this built-in wallet opened up opportunities for more individuals interested in cryptocurrency.
Regarding the newly-cemented partnership, Ledger Capital Managing Partner Ding’an Fei says, “We are excited to work with an innovator and industry leader like Opera. Opera has already taken the lead among the major browsers, with the integration of the innovative crypto wallet and investments from other leading crypto companies like Bitmain. We are looking forward to exploring the next steps in how Opera will leverage its massive ecosystem and technical competencies to create exponential value for its user base and the greater blockchain space.“
