Banking service Revolut has partnered up with Mastercard to offer customers the Revolut metal debit card, which will give cryptocurrency cashback rewards.
The UK-based financial company announced its new debit card Wednesday, stating that it “literally pays you to spend.”

Users of the Revolut metal debit card will receive cashback rewards when they use it to spend crypto. The reward system is made possible through the company’s partnership with Mastercard.
Not everyone is happy with the offer – as can be seen in the Twitter thread. This is due to the conditions that come with the debit card – a fee of around 135 euros per year, a cashback rate of 0.1 per cent (outside of Europe, 1 per cent). Furthermore, crypto cannot be transferred to the card. This means customers have to purchase crypto directly from Revolut – an additional step that does not help its cause.
The announcement is still catching the attention of consumers, though, and with only 10,000 Revolut metal debit cards available, you will want to get yours early on if you are so inclined.
