The beauty industry embraces cryptocurrency as more platforms announce that they are offering crypto as an option for payment – among other means of adoption. Last month, Perfect365 announced users can earn Kin, an existing cryptocurrency, and use it to purchase premium features. Perfect365 is an augmented reality app which allows users to experiment with makeup and clothes and preview their look.
Other platforms have quickly followed suit.
Opu Labs touts itself as a “pocket skin clinic” and gives users information about the health of their skin through revolutionary AI technology, OPU AI. They also serve as a search platform where users can find treatment information from consumer skincare service providers and their eCommerce partners.
They have their own crypto, Opu Coin, which is based on Ethereum. Brands will be offered the chance to buy the coin using real currency as a means to reach out to consumers via surveys.
Other names in the beauty sector like Cosmochain, Jolyy, and R+Co have joined in by offering Bitcoin as a payment option.
It is not unimaginable, as Opu Labs COO Richard Reed says, that in the future, crypto as a payment option will be as common as PayPal.
